The court overturned the sentence of 18 months in prison handed down on December 24, 2019 for cyber-harassment. This judgment followed a complaint from the public prosecutor who ruled that the journalist had distorted his remarks in three tweets published during a workshop organized by CFI on information intoxication. Me Brice Houssou, one of Ignace Sossou’s many lawyers, said he was very disappointed. According to him, Ignace Sossou should be released from prison on June 24, 2020.
