Benin: “The opposition seems lost (…) the head of state has a boulevard for the presidential election”

Back to the municipal and communal elections in Benin: the Progressive Union and the Republican Bloc, the two parties of the Head of State, Patrice Talon, won 77% of the seats at stake. The participation rate stands at 49 , 14%. This is apparent from the still provisional results that the Election Commission published on the night of Wednesday to Thursday. The main opposition parties, which did not fulfill the conditions laid down by law, did not participate in these elections.
