The controversy swells in Chadian social networks. National Television Information Director Souleymane Djabo was interrupted on Wednesday 13 October by the head of the National Office for Audiovisual Media (Onama), officially “for serious professional irregularities”. A suspension reminiscent of the previous director, Hassan Guedallah Mahamat, 2019, also “for serious professional misconduct”, which many had compared to the broadcast of a report on the opposition.

Everyone was told, on Wednesday 13 September, the suspension of their information director, Souleymane Djabo, officially for professional misconduct.
On social networks, some attribute this sanction to the dissemination, in the local newspaper on October 9, of images from a ceremony of the Socialist Party without Borders (PSF) in the capital’s ninth arrondissement. It’s the opponent’s party Yaya Dillo Djerou.
“It has nothing to do,” replied Communications Minister Abderaman Koulamallah, who justified the suspension of the information director by sending a report on an ongoing trial. A subject which Souleymane Djabo would not have validated by the Director of Télé Chad, under the internal procedure.
