Madagascar beat Tanzania in the qualifiers

The Madagascar team lost 3-2 on the field to Tanzania on September 7, 2021 in Dar es Salaam, in the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup. Malagasy has 0 points after two matches, in Group J.

Playing a World Cup for the first time: this dream of Malagasy seems to be coming to an end. On September 7, 2021, Barea has in any case suffered a second defeat in the qualifiers WC 2022. Five days after a loss at home to Benin (0-1), they lost 3-2 in Tanzania.

Tanzanier opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the second minute by Erasto Nyoni, before Novatus Miroshi widened the gap in the 26th minute.

The protégés of Eric Rabésandratana then deserved not to give up. They thus returned to 2-2 before the break, thanks to Njiva Rakotoharimalala (2-1, 36th) and Thomas Fointaine (2-2, 45th + 2).

But the Taifa Stars regained promotion through Feisal Salum Abdallah (3-2, 53rd). Thanks to this success, they placed first in Group J, awaiting their double confrontation with Benin in October.

Malagasy, on the other hand, will play their game against DR Congo, on the third and fourth day of the qualifiers. Absent from the next African Cup of Nations, the Madagascar team must win its next two matches if it does not want to fall back to normal after a glittering CAN 2019.
