Amnesty International calls on Kaïs Saïed

Amnesty International calls on Tunisian President Kaïs Saïed to lift arbitrary travel bans. The organization has identified about fifty travel bans in one week.

Amnesty International also condemns “illegal” measures. Most of the people concerned wanted to travel to Turkey and a Member of Parliament was going to France. The Tunisian president had banned deputies from leaving the country during the period of exceptional measures. But according to Amnesty International, the travel ban is also targeted at other categories of people, such as businessmen. Amna Guellali, Amnesty International’s Deputy Regional Director for Africa and the Middle East, answers questions from Houda Ibrahim.
