This radiation therapy center will treat several types of cancer, with a capacity of sixty patients per day, according to project coordinator Djakaridja Hema Ouattara.

“We have a room for brachytherapy that treats cervical cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer … Here is a radiotherapy center that can treat all types of cancer. Full-time, we will be able to treat 60 patients per day. ”

To cure cancer through radiation therapy, Burkinabè patients were evacuated from the country. This type of treatment is the leading cause of medical evacuation in Burkina Faso.

Although they say they are happy with the opening of this new center, patients say they are worried about the cost of treatment. Professor Nay Zongo, Professor Nayi Zongo, representative of the recipients. “Patients will be deprived due to lack of funds even though they are available in Burkina Faso, this is currently the biggest problem for its recipients.”
