MOGADISHU ( AXADLE) – The first day of Somalia’s lower house election ends with other Somaliland legislators overwhelmingly elected in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu
Incumbent Bihi Iman Egeh has retained his seat in the lower house after his only opponent Abdirahman Hassan Ismail in the just-concluded election, which seat at General Kahiye Police Academy.
Ige received 92 votes while his opponent Abdirahman Hassan Ismail only secured nine votes.
Elections for Somalia’s lower house began on Monday morning in Mogadishu.
Earlier in the day, Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister Guled Mushtaq defeated Ibrahim Yusuf for seat HOP239 by 97 votes, while Yusuf received three votes.
Somaliland has 61 seats in the lower house.
