Barcelona and Real Madrid meet in legends

Are you ready for a very concentrated dose of football nostalgia to be injected directly into your eyeballs?

You are? That’s good, because on Tuesday night, Real Madrid legends beat the Barcelona legends 3-2 in front of a feverish audience in Tel Aviv.

We know what you’re thinking. Yes, Ronaldinho was involved, as was Rivaldo and of course both had number 10. Deco, Javier Saviola and Gaizka Mendieta also presented.

On the other side of the Clasico split, Brazilian Roberto Carlos put on a white shirt again, as did captain Luis Figo and most exciting of all, Bolton legend Ivan Campo.

In the opening changes, a player got in front of everyone else’s eyes … Ronaldinho, obv.

Pulling out a host of his favorite tricks and putting Rivaldo up for some good chances, he may even have done enough to earn a contract before the season started. We hear Leicester City may be looking for a new number ten if James Maddison joins Arsenal.

¡GOOOOOOOOOOOL! ?

Eventually, Ronnie would get the goal his performance deserved and lose a penalty for the first half and make it 1-0 to Barcelona.

He would also roll back the years with this wonderful ride and drive towards the woodwork.

Miss him so much, right?

Shortly after the break, Real Mun placed a quick volley from Pedro Munitis. If you have not heard of Munitis, do not feel embarrassed. The forward made just 53 La Liga appearances in three seasons between 2000 and 2003, and only twice. That means he doubled his Los Blancos speech in one night. Not bad.

Shortly after, Jofre Mateu Campo made it look very ridiculous – how dare you – before firing Barcelona’s equalizer.

However, their opponents would have the last laugh, with Ruben de la Red choosing the gang to win the match. He jumped past several players and then bent the ball into the far corner to send the Real fans who were present home happy.
