Camavinga looked after the Sancho affair

Manchester United plan to turn their attention to Stade Rennais youngster Eduardo Camavinga when they have completed the signing of Jadon Sancho.

United hope to build a team suitable for a Premier League title challenge next season but have yet to strengthen the squad that finished second to Manchester City last semester. That is expected to change soon, as a deal for Sancho is nearing completion, with personal talks expected to be a breeze once a transfer fee has been agreed with Borussia Dortmund.

Bild reported last week that a deal reaches its conclusion and it is backed by The Mail, which says that United now sees Sancho as a clear deal. All that is needed is to agree on how the fee is structured, which is not expected to be too much of a stumbling block.

They say that after Sancho is finished and dusted, United plan to strengthen the midfield, and that Camavinga – who already has more than 80 older appearances under his belt – is the primary goal.

The 18-year-old was previously linked with Real Madrid and could be available for a modest fee, given that his contract expires at the end of next season. Rennes does not want to wait and risk leaving a free transfer, so be prepared to listen to reasonable offers that arrive this summer.

Camavinga is already a senior international for France and is a favorite of Paul Pogba, despite being left out of his squad for the 2020 European Championships. Pogba previously became lyrical about the youngster after scoring goals in his first start against Ukraine in October and admitted that he sees a bit of himself in the Rennes star.

Potentially the man to replace Paul Pogba at Manchester United? ?

“It’s a pleasure to see him put on the shirt. To score a goal after his first start is honestly wonderful, Pogba said then.

“I was really happy for him. I just wish the best and much more. He has everything for it. His future is in his hands. He is very calm, he is a little dancer.

“He makes me think a little about me. He’s not a shy person. That’s good, because he’s confident. He has confidence in his qualities. He’s a very good child, I like him very much.”
