Fresh pictures of Chelsea’s home kit for the 2021/22 season have been leaked and it … looks really different.
The West London side is known for its traditional blue kits that usually have a touch of white (and sometimes red or yellow), but Nike has taken it a step further with this new design.
During the fifth year of its deal with the mega-sports brand, Chelsea will be wearing a very hectic home kit that includes zigzags, squares and some high-quality light yellow trim.

According to the ever-reliable Footy Headlines, Chelsea’s new kit is officially ‘Lyon blue’ and will be accompanied by ‘opti yellow’ trim. ‘Lyon blue’ is a variant of the traditional royal blue color and the yellow can be seen on the sides of the shirt, around the Nike logo and the club top. Club sponsor ‘3’ will see their logo remain white in the middle of the shirt.
The squares and zig-zags give a real spectacle when the shirt is on the gallows, but when you look at the picture of a fan who managed to detect the shirt early, it does not look so bad in reality.
The kit is scheduled to be released in May, just before the current season is called to an end, and it is likely that Chelsea will carry the kit in their final game of the season as they have done in the past.
Chelsea fans are not very happy with the equipment judging by online reactions, with a fan even going so far as to say that it is “the worst kit since birth”. Yikes.

The club hopes more people will like it when it is officially released and sold as it is likely to cost around £ 70 and Chelsea will wear it most weeks in a year. Good luck with that, Blues.
