How to watch Brighton vs Newcastle on TV

Brighton and Newcastle will end Saturday’s Premier League action when they meet at AMEX Stadium.

After a few tricky weeks, Brighton reminded the league what they are all about when they came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw against Liverpool last week, but they continue to play five games without a win.

It’s still in much better shape than the one Newcastle are in. The Magpies are still looking for their first win of the campaign and will enter it after a 3-0 thump against Chelsea’s hands.

The change to the 4-2-3-1 formation against Liverpool gave some solid results and Graham Potter was able to stick to it after managing to avoid further injury problems during the week.

Long-term absences Dan Burn, Danny Welbeck and Steven Alzate remain sidelined, but this is nothing new.

Similarly, Newcastle have no new problems. Freddie Woodman and Paul Dummett are unavailable, but everyone else is fit and available.

There will be a lot of eye on the goalkeeper position, where Martin Dubravka hopes for his first start of the season after recovering from a foot injury to sit on the bench last against Chelsea.

Brighton (4-2-3-1): Sanchez; Veltman, Dunk, Duffy, Cucurella; Mwepu, Bissouma; Mars, Lallana, Mother; Trossard

Newcastle (3-5-2): Dubravka; Krafth, Lascelles, Clark; Manquillo, Longstaff, Hayden, Almiron, Ritchie; Saint-Maximin, Wilson

The 2016/17 season is the only point in history where Newcastle have enjoyed meeting Brighton. The Magpies made the double that year but have failed to win any of the other 12 meetings between the two sides.

Brighton enjoy an eight-match unbeaten streak against Newcastle, including two 3-0 wins at home and away last year.

Six of the players who started Newcastle’s latest win over Brighton 2017 remain at the club today – Karl Darlow, Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark, Jonjo Shelvey, Matt Richie and Paul Dummett – which speaks volumes about the club’s lack of recruitment in recent years.

Brighton usually know how to beat Newcastle, and it will be a big surprise if they do not take advantage of that experience to go from there with the win here.

Potter’s men regained some of their mojo when they put two behind Liverpool last weekend, and they expect to improve that return against a team from Newcastle who have not kept a single zero this season and who are just ahead of Norwich City at . bottom of the league’s defensive lists.

Do not rule out a goal for Newcastle, but they simply do not seem to have the firepower needed to live with Brighton.

Prediction: Brighton 3-1 Newcastle
