How to watch Leicester vs Spartak Moscow on TV / livestream

7

Leicester vs Spartak Moscow have a lot to live up to on Thursday night with the reverse match two weeks ago that offered us seven goals.

Foxes came back from two goals to triumph 4-3 in that match and with his Europa League future far from certain, Brendan Rodgers will be desperate for his team to experience a more comfortable evening here.

Leicester will also be motivated to bounce back after their mini-revival was stopped by a 2-0 loss to Arsenal at the weekend. Their opponents meanwhile get into this in bad shape and lost 7-1 to Zenit St Petersburg before losing a 1-1 draw to FC Rostov in the Russian Premier League since facing the East Midlands.

Leicester got a real blow to this one with a disease that spread in their ranks. Both James Maddison and Harvey Barnes are affected, with the disease that has kept them out of training in recent days.

In better news, both Wilfred Ndidi and Ricardo Pereira should be back in the group, although Rodgers suggested a return this weekend was more likely.

Elsewhere, long-term absentees Wesley Fofana and James Justin are gone, as is Marc Albrighton, who was at the end of a morbid tackle in the reverse match.

Spartak’s manager Rui Vitoria has two major absences to contend with in the form of Georgi Melkadze and Pavel Maslov.

However, Maximiliano Caufriez is back in the fold after missing the reverse game through suspension.

Leicester City: Flattery; Amartey, Evans, Vestergaard; Castagne, Ndidi, Tielemans, Bertrand; Perez, Barnes; Daka

Spartak Moscow: Maximenko; Dzhikiya, Gigot, Caufriez; Moses, Zobnin, Bakaev, Litvinov, Ayrton; Promes, Sobolev

Unsurprisingly, given Leicester’s only new move to European football, this will be only the second time the two teams have met.

The second is the reverse match last month, of course.

With Group C nicely ready after three matches, both sides will be desperate to get a result at King Power Stadium.

Leicester’s injury list is a concern but the Premier League team should still have enough to get over the line without too many problems.

Ensuring that the free Daka gets plenty of service is crucial if Foxes is to secure an important three points.

Prediction: Leicester 3-1 Spartak Moscow
