Chelsea can take a big step towards qualifying for the Champions League knockout stages by beating Malmö in one of Tuesday’s early kicks.
The Blues played to a 4-0 victory over the Swedish team on match day 3 and since then they have also put Norwich City and Newcastle for the sword in the Premier League.
Malmö is at the same time undefeated since that defeat and currently tops the Allsvenskan when they enter the business end of their domestic season. However, things have been less good in Europe, with Blue Ones not yet registering a point in Group H.
Here is everything you need to know before the match …

Malmö has two experienced operators out in Ola Toivonen and Jonas Knudsen – of which the latter has a cruel long throw.
A better news is that the former Ajax defender Niklas Moisander should be back after missing the return match due to injury. Look out for ex-Blackburn Rovers and Norwich City man Martin Olsson as well.
Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner and Mateo Kovacic will all miss the match due to injury, while Mason Mount will be sidelined due to illness.
Christian Pulisic, however, is in contention, although it is probably too early for him to start the match.
Malmö: Dahlin; Moisander, Ahmedhodzic, Brorsson; Larsson, Rakip, Innocent, Christiansen, Olsson; Birmancevic, Colak
Chelsea: Mendy; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Chalobah; James, Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek, Alonso; Hudson-Odoi, Ziyech; Havertz
Chelsea had faced Malmö twice before the meeting on match day 3. These matches were the two legs in the pair’s round of 16 in the Europa League 2018/19, which the Blues came through comfortably.
Goals from Olivier Giroud and Ross Barkley – which may come on Tuesday – gave them a 2-1 victory in Sweden, while securing an easy 3-0 victory in the return match. Giroud and Barkley scored again in that match, with Callum Hudson-Odoi adding a third late in the second half.
Malmö has never been close to beating Chelsea in their three previous meetings and we have no reason to believe that things will be different this time.
The Blues’ wealth of attacking options means that even with so many players on the sidelines, they can still line up a front line that their opponents can only dream of.
Expect to see Tuchel’s side light towards another easy victory in Sweden.
Forecast: Malmö 0-3 Chelsea
