Inter optimistic about the renewal of the contract with Marcelo Brozovic

Inter are still optimistic that midfielder Marcelo Brozovic will soon sign a new contract as the clubs continue to monitor his situation.

The Croatian national team player has often been linked with a move from the San Siro, with Tottenham and Manchester United among the sides that have been rumored to be interested in recent years.

90min reported exclusively earlier in November that Newcastle have been offered the chance to recruit both Brozovic and his Nerazzurri team-mate Stefan de Vrij.

Both players are nearing the end of their contracts, with De Vrij’s term until 2023 and Brozovic’s end next summer, but Inter’s CEO Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that he is convinced an agreement can be reached to keep the latter at the club.

He said: “We are aware that we offer the right ingredients for him, ones that can not be easily found in other clubs. I am optimistic about the renewal. We did Barella and Lautaro and I think we will continue with the others as well. . “

If the talks continue to drag on without an agreement, clubs around Europe could try to take him in January if Inter decide to make money or during the summer when he would be available for free.

The Serie A champions have been proactive in keeping their main stars in the club. There was interest in Lautaro Martinez during the summer, but the Argentine has since signed a new contract, while midfield star Nicolo Barella has also put the pen to paper on new terms.

Inter have had a good start to their title defense, even though the race at the top of the table is tight. Napoli are currently first with 32 points, ahead of AC Milan on goal difference, with Inter four points behind third.
