Jack Grealish has supported himself to deliver better performances at the new club Manchester City, and admitted that he has found the time with the club so far more difficult than he expected.
Grealish left the boys’ club Aston Villa for City in a move of 100 million pounds during the summer but has not yet made himself an integral part of their starting eleven, scored two goals and assisted two more in the Premier League so far this season.
More recently, he was released by Pep Guardiola along with Phil Foden for a late night trip to a nightclub.
Grealish spoke to Sky Sports and gave himself a fair assessment of his time at City so far.
He said: “I’ve done okay so far. I have so much more to give. It’s been so much harder than I thought it would be. I’m learning and still adapting. I’ve heard some people take a year off. to adapt here so it might be the same for me.I want to score more goals and set more goals next year.
“It’s crazy because the standard here is so high on and off the pitch. It’s incredible and that’s why they’ve been so successful over the years.
“Having a £ 100m price tag means that when you go through a dry note people ask if you’re worth the money – where’s his goal, where’s his assist? I understand that, but I have to see it as a privilege for the club wanted to spend so much money on me and I hope I can pay them back with goals and trophies.
“Playing in the Champions League is completely different from the Premier League – I had never played in Europe before, and I really wanted to. It’s incredible to hear the Champions League song, it makes you pinch yourself. It’s a trophy the players here really wants to win. “
