Klopp makes Champions League group entry

Liverpool supervisor Jurgen Klopp has admitted that the Red Champions League squad this season, with AC Milan, Atletico Madrid and Porto, is the hardest he has met on the membership.

While he was in cost at Borussia Dortmund, Klopp confronted a bunch that included Manchester City, Real Madrid and Ajax. But slightly than worry a “group of death”, the Liverpool boss likes it.

“This is the strongest group we’ve had since I’m been to Liverpool, there’s no doubt about it,” stated Klopp of the Liverpool Echo.

“In 2013 in Dortmund, we also had a real Champions League group. We had Man City, Real Madrid and Ajax, which was a real group where people said ‘oh my god, how are we going to do that?’

A vintage Dortmund side ended up at the top of that group after overcoming the tough early tests and going all the way to the final. Klopp will expect that his Liverpool team can also take on the challenges of reigning La Liga champions Atletico, a revitalizing Milan and a consistent Porto.

“What does it do for the competitors? It kicks out two actually good groups, it should additionally ship a very robust soccer staff to the Europa League, that is needless to say!” he continued.

This group will be exciting from the first second to the last second. Nothing will be decided early in this group. It keeps us on our toes, and between these matches we also have a very important competition that plays the Premier League and League Cup, hopefully the FA Cup later in the season.

“It’s precisely what we needed, we play Milan, Atletico, Porto, unimaginable arenas, massive crowds, passionate fan bases. That’s precisely how we like soccer, and now we have now it, so let’s take care of it.”

Liverpool begin their Champions League campaign with a repeat of the final in 2005 and 2007 when Milan, back in the competition for the first time since 2013/14, visit Anfield on Wednesday night.
