Kylian Mbappe still resists new PSG contract

Kylian Mbappe has been given a 50/50 chance to sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain and stay at the club after this season.

Mbappe has signed a contract with PSG in the summer of 2022, which makes PSG vulnerable to losing him on a free transfer for talks if a new deal does not work and they do not sell him this year.

The 2018 World Cup winner has been quite open about weighing up his options for next season and would only sign a new contract with PSG if he sees his long-term future with them.

While insisting that he has always been happy in Paris, Mbappe said in January: “I have to make a decision soon but I am thinking about it. I do not want to sign a contract and say a year later that I want to leave. If I sign, it’s to stay and it deserves time to reflect on my decision. ”

Almost three months later, the Daily Telegraph reports that Mbappe continues to resist signing a new PSG contract. Unlike Neymar, talks about a new deal have not progressed, his probability of staying is only ranked 50/50 and it is said to be “genuine concern” that he wants to leave.

It is known that there is a long-term mutual admiration between Mbappe and Real Madrid, but the Spanish outlet Cuatro takes it further and claims that the player has already decided that he will not renew his contract at PSG and wants to join Los Blancos.

If there is no progress in the contract talks in Paris in the coming weeks, PSG have no choice but to start listening to offers for Mbappe, who has scored over 30 goals in all competitions for the third season in a row and a total of 122 since leaving Monaco. 2017.

In France, reporter Mohamed Bouhafsi has claimed that the Spanish media’s stories about Mbappesaga are being carried away and insisted that Mbappe has so far not informed PSG of any desire to join Real.

If it reaches the stages where negotiations between Real and PSG begin, it is one of the most expensive transfers in history. 90min has previously reported that PSG would prefer a world record fee in excess of 222 million euros that they paid for Neymar. However, they could be persuaded to accept a lower offer of around € 175 million, which would still be the third largest ever.

Crucially for Real, not all money would have to be paid in advance and all payment structures could be postponed over several years, while Eden Hazard is a player they would be willing to include in the negotiations and one that PSG also admires.

Despite concerns, 90 minutes has already revealed that Real have the finances for Mbappe in place as club president Florentino Perez has been working on it for the past two years.
