Man City predicted the line-up against Leicester

Manchester City look set to continue their flashy Premier League form when they host Leicester on the second day of Christmas.

Pep Guardiola’s men have been ruthless in recent times, with eight straight league victories – including a 7-0 defeat by Leeds and a 4-0 defeat by Newcastle in their previous two – securing their place at the top of the tree this Christmas.

Guardiola’s relatively healthy squad, which is three points ahead of Liverpool in second place, receives a team from Leicester that consistently struggles to find consistency.

Here’s who the Man City boss can line up to overcome his ninth visitors.

Ederson (GK) – Three consecutive zeros – making it already ten for the season – see the Brazilian top of the goalkeeper lists as the Premier League season approaches the center.

Joao Cancelo (RB) – Whether he is a right- or left-back, his influence on matches is astonishing and after a great performance in Newcastle, he will of course start with this one.

Ruben Dias (CB) – Got his second league goal of the season last time and, against a Leicester team that is deplorably incompetent to defend solid goals, he could get his third – or even fourth.

Aymeric Laporte (CB) – Has been the first choice for Dias this season and should be set for a 14th league start of the campaign.

Oleksandr Zinchenko (LB) – While Kyle Walker is still hesitant, the always reliable Zinchenko should continue in defense.

Rodri (DM) – Rodri is undeniably one of the best defensive midfielders in world football. Rodri finds it easy to control the middle of the pitch.

Bernardo Silva (CM) – His spark has gone out a bit in recent weeks but Silvas has proved unplayable for most of 2021/2022 and should be set for an 18th straight Premier League start.

Kevin De Bruyne (CENTIMETER) – Followed a champion class against Leeds with a less than impressive display in Newcastle, but while Ilkay Gundogan waits behind the scenes, will probably start again for this one.

Riyad Mahrez (RW) – Phil Foden and Jack Grealish will both be hopeful of returning to the squad after being dropped for disciplinary reasons last time, but after their brilliant performance at St. John’s. James’ Park deserves Mahrez’s place.

Gabriel Jesus (ST) – The Brazilian was also the key in the last, and took the assist to the team’s fourth.

Raheem Sterling (LW) – The nominated BBC Sports Personality of the Year nominee would also feel very ready to lose his place to either Foden or Grealish, score goals and generally play well in his side’s final outing.
