Mourinho looks at Loftus-Cheek and Wink’s transfers

Roma are considering a double whammy to reunite Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tottenham’s Harry Winks with Jose Mourinho in January.

After a solid start, Mourinho’s team has recently faltered with a couple of shocking results against elritsa Bodo / Glimt in the Europa Conference League group stage, which emphasizes Giallorossi’s lack of squad depth.

Roma lost the first match 6-1 in Norway, before stumbling to a 2-2 draw in the Italian capital on Thursday – where Mourinho put close to a full strength XI.

The latest domestic results have also been shaky. Roma lost to Juventus and Milan in October and also drew with top-flight Napoli to leave them 12 points from the Serie A summit in fourth place.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the club is willing to back Mourinho on the transfer market in January due to his stuttering. Two names on their list of potential recruits are Loftus-Cheek and Winks, although it is not stated whether they would seek permanent or borrowed relocations.

Winks has been struggling to reach a place in Spurs’ first team for some time now and is known for considering his future. He declined the chance to leave his boys’ club in the summer with Everton, Aston Villa and Brighton all interested.

But having enjoyed just 60 minutes of Premier League action so far this promotion, he is now ready for a loan – if not a permanent departure.

It’s harder to see the Roma prying Loftus-Cheek away from Stamford Bridge. He was considered a replacement at the start of the season after an overwhelming loan spell with Fulham, and he has since forced himself into Thomas Tuchel’s plans.

He is currently ahead of Saul Niguez in the pick order and with Mateo Kovacic injured, he will probably enjoy a lot of playing time in the coming weeks, which makes a departure in January unlikely.
