Nemanja Matic reveals how Man Utd adapts to Ralf Rangnick’s requirements

Nemanja Matic has revealed that the Manchester United squad uses “every moment” to understand Ralf Rangnick’s tactical ideas.

Rangnick was placed as interim manager at Old Trafford after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was fired last month, and the German would move on to a consulting role for another two years at the end of the season.

His first match as manager went well with United securing a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford. After the game, Rangnick admitted that he was pleasantly surprised by how well his team had played against the Eagles, and pointed out their pressure for special praise.

Next on the agenda for Rangnick’s team is Young Boys in the Champions League with Matic – who will wear the captain’s armband on Wednesday night – keen to emphasize how hard he and his teammates are working to realize his manager’s playing field.

“Every boss has his ideas, we try to adapt, of course, to do our best to help him adapt as soon as possible to us and, of course, we have to adapt to him. We help each other, at Now look all good, let’s look at the plan in the future “, he said.

Although the squad was willing, Matic acknowledged that United’s hectic schedule had reduced the amount of time they could spend on the training ground.

“Yes, we do not have too much time to train. As you said, we play every third day but we are used to it,” he added.

“The boss knows – he knew what to expect – so we have to learn his ideas step by step every day so we use every moment of the training session to understand his ideas.”

United have already made sure to move on to the knockout stages, making this a dead rubber from their perspective. However, Matic insisted that they were still very motivated to finish things on top.

“Yes, it’s good. It’s good to take that pressure off, and of course we want to win the last game, especially at Old Trafford in front of our supporters,” he said.

“We want to end these group games with three points to make our supporters happy. I think everyone is happy, everyone is ready [and] we want to end this in the best possible way. “
