N’Golo Kante explains the reasons behind his famous humble nature

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has explained that the reason for his famous humble nature is an appreciation of the hard work and many setbacks he experienced when he tried to do so as a footballer.

Kante had a modest start in the sport and got his break in Boulogne in France’s semi-professional third level, before being thrown into the spotlight just three years later when he joined Leicester with just a single season of top flight experience.

Kante, who is rarely seen or heard from the pitch, was a major factor in Leicester’s shock wins in the Premier League and has consistently been one of the best players in the world since joining Chelsea in the summer of 2016.

The player has revealed myths that he used to run to training in Leicester, but his insistence on driving a Mini Cooper long after making it big in football, compared to the luxury cars favored by his teammates, and many other similar stories have created an existing image.

“It’s not necessarily to be humble. To come here, to join Chelsea, to join the French [national] team, was a long journey with many setbacks “, Kante revealed to ChelseaFC.com.

“From a young age, training centers did not accept me, and I failed several times in my attempts to join professional teams,” he added.

“It’s just to be grateful for my journey – to remember all the people I’ve met, and who also wanted this career, to be able to live on football. I succeeded and it’s about enjoying it all. It’s that know how far I have come and enjoy everything, and go as far as I can while I can. ”

As a result of his gradual progress in football, Kante declared that he could get used to fame, although he is widely known for being a reserved character.

“It went slowly,” he said. “First in the small towns where I was. For example in Boulogne, then in Caen. Then in Leicester it grew more. Then the French team made me shine even more in France. Now, Chelsea, in England, it’s true that I often come across fans.

“It’s a country that loves football. I just have to deal with it. It always makes the fans happy, so when I can and when I do not mind, I go with it.”
