offer for Lorenzo Insigne

Radiotelevisione Italiana journalist Paolo Paganini has claimed live on air on Radio Kiss Kiss (yes, it’s Radio Kiss Kiss) that Tottenham have made an offer to Napoli and Italy’s Lorenzo Insigne.

Paganini also stated that Maurizio Sarris Lazio is strongly interested in the winger, with the former Chelsea boss wanting to unite the Euro 2020 champion with Ciro Immobile and Felipe Anderson, who Lazio has left West Ham.

“In Italy, Lazio in particular have moved for the player in the presence of Maurizio Sarri. The coach dreams of an attack with Insigne, Immobile and Anderson,” Paganini was quoted as saying by Area Napoli.

But the journalist also said that the Italian club does not have the financial resources to acquire the services from Insigne without offering a player in a swap agreement. He claims that the most important interest has come from Tottenham, who have reportedly made an offer.

The Premier League club has previously been linked with the winger, although no speculation has ever been leveled. But Paganini revealed on the air that among Insigne’s many potential suitors, Tottenham have actually made the most remarkable offer.

“The most important offers came from abroad, especially from Tottenham. After the European Championships, Lorenzo has many new fans,” said Paganini.

In addition to Son Heung-min, Tottenham currently have Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela and Steven Bergwijn as options in wide areas – the latter, however, has been dropped as a potential departure this summer.

Insigne would introduce top quality in Spurs’ wide range of options, especially after the end of Gareth Bale’s loan spell from Real Madrid. The wing in Naples was a start in all of Italy’s Euro 2020 winning campaign and scored two goals – including one of the strikes in the tournament against Belgium in the quarterfinals.

It came from the back of a fantastic individual season for Napoli, where he contributed with 19 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.
