The former Huddersfield and Charlton striker enjoyed a good September and he repeated the feat in October.

Grant scored three goals for West Brom to continue his quest for automatic promotion, including the decisive winner against local rivals Birmingham City.

The winner of the prize in September, he will be very difficult to overlook this time too.

Finished the month scoring goals in four consecutive matches, but the Serb did not just score one goal per game pace – he scored eight, including a hat-trick against championship title rival West Brom. 12 goals in his last seven games says it all.

The former England defender only joined Bournemouth last month, but he has had a huge impact on Scott Parker’s side.

In ten games, the Cherries have conceded just three goals and only one of them was sent in October. Throw in an assist in the win over Reading, and it has truly been an outstanding month for Cahill.

Bournemouth’s rise to the top of the table was largely due to Dominic Solanke’s brilliant form.

The Cherries won every game in October and Solanke scored in four of his five games, including one against Huddersfield.

Jerry Yates did not score in September, but he made up for it in October when he helped Blackpool win four games out of five.

Yates, who scored four goals during the month, also took an assist in the derby victory over Preston – which helped the Tangerines maintain their unlikely push towards the playoffs.

The former Bristol City midfielder had an outstanding October for his new club.

Patterson became an immediate hero for the Swansea faithful when he created their victory over the bitter rivals Cardiff – scored one goal and created two more in a comprehensive 3-0 victory. Followed it up with a goal and assist in the win over West Brom.
