Ralf Rangnick provides updates on the injuries of Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Maguire and Jadon Sancho

Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Harry Maguire should all be available for Man Utd’s Premier League match with Aston Villa.

The match comes just five days after the two teams finished in the FA Cup, where United won the draw 1-0. The aforementioned trio, like Phil Jones, all missed on Monday due to injury but Rangnick hopes they will be ready to return this weekend.

“I think they will be available,” Rangnick told reporters.

“They only trained yesterday for the first time. Cristiano yesterday, Harry the day before yesterday. We have to wait for the last session this afternoon but as it looks right now they should be available tomorrow [Saturday]. “

This contradicts reports this morning that Ronaldo would miss the match after being forced to leave training early. The forward has been suffering from hip problems recently and it was said that this was a separate issue.

At the same time, Sancho has been sidelined by muscle injuries. This was the latest blow in what has been a thoroughly overwhelming start to life at Old Trafford following his move from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Sancho has only scored twice in 22 games this season and he will hope to increase his numbers if he is selected against Villa this weekend.

Maguire may also be back in the fold and will likely be thrown straight back into the starting eleven if he is passed fit to play. The United skipper has been away with a chest injury.

Having the trio back in battle is a big boost for Rangnick in the face of what is an important game. United are currently seventh in the Premier League, six points behind West Ham in fourth place but with two games left.
