Raphinha is not expected to push to leave Leeds in January

Leeds winger Raphinha is not expected to try to force a departure from Elland Road any time soon, amid growing rumors of transfer interest from the likes of Bayern Munich and Liverpool.

The Brazilian has kept Leeds afloat during a difficult second season in the top division and has scored eight goals so far – almost half of the entire team’s total Premier League.

Bayern were recently linked with a shock spike in January, while stories suggesting Liverpool are keeping an eye on Raphinha have been circulating for some time – in October, his agent even confirmed that an informal contact with Anfield had been made.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reported on Boxing Day that new contract talks with Raphinha are continuing on Elland Road, and the Daily Mirror now added that the 25-year-old has no plans to actively pursue a move right now.

He has ambitions to play at a higher level, such as Bayern or Liverpool would offer, but is not prepared to risk his good relationship with Leeds and their fans by trying to leave when the club is in a precarious position just above the Premier League. The league’s relegation spot.

Leeds paid Rennes £ 17 million for Raphinha’s signature in October 2020. He flourished rapidly in English football and has raised his individual performances to another level in 2021/22.

The club can easily make a nice profit when it’s time to sell, even if they are determined to keep him for the time being and he does not seem to have any problems with it.
