Ready to tie Henderson & Alisson to new offers

Liverpool will enter into talks with captain Jordan Henderson over a new contract that could lead him to end his career at Anfield, while an agreement to extend Alisson Becker’s stay until the summer of 2026 is nearing completion.

The pair have been key to Red’s success over the past three seasons, with Alisson’s arrival proving the catalyst behind the Champions League and Premier League triumphs. Henderson has also grown to be a crucial midfielder and was missed a lot in the second half of last season after suffering a series of injuries.

Liverpool are doing everything they can to tie the duo’s future to Anfield for the foreseeable future. Fabrizio Romano reports that the Reds are “set to complete the deal” with Alisson on a contract that runs until the summer of 2026, extending his current deal by two years.

The player and the club only need to settle for the final details and clauses of the contract in the coming weeks, and then the agreement will be announced. Alisson’s decision to hand over his future to Anfield will be a great relief for supporters, who have seen their team flourish since the Brazilian’s arrival from AS Roma 2018.

Together with Alisson, Liverpool also hope to give captain Henderson a new contract, which could lead him to end his career at Merseyside, according to The Mirror. The 31-year-old joined the Reds a decade ago and has become a fan favorite for his leadership qualities in the middle of the pitch.

Henderson last underwent contract talks in 2018, when he suggested he would like to spend the rest of his playing days in Liverpool.

“It does not seem like a long time ago when I signed my first – it really feels like yesterday – but a lot has happened since then.

“I feel like it’s been a progressive journey for me throughout my time here and one I’ve enjoyed so much.

“There is no other place in the world that I would rather play football. I want to be here as long as I can. “

Liverpool also hope to be able to tie talisman Virgil van Dijk to a new contract, with his current contract expiring in the summer of 2023.
