Rennes president Nicolas Holveck has admitted that the club is “open” to selling teenage midfield star Eduardo Camavinga, who is a transfer target for Manchester United, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
Camavinga, who will not turn 19 until November but has already played 82 senior matches for Rennes and was first covered by France at senior level 2020, has emerged in recent years as one of the brightest new talents in world football.
Despite his age, the kid already looks like he could take the next step in his career. Rennes are prepared to let him go at the right price, although the Ligue 1 side will not be bullied for accepting a lowball offer. Nor have they ruled out a new contract either.

“One of the priorities is to reduce the squad. We still have eight or nine players who need to leave. There is also the big Eduardo situation, says Hovleck to the radio station RMC.
“Everything is still open, either for a possible departure or for an extension [his contract]. This is the big issue that is going on, “the Rennes president explained. “He does not leave for nothing. We’ve had many conversations, but nothing is done in one way or another. ”
Hovleck also refuses to set a fixed price tag for Camavinga. The club has an idea of what they value the player on, but the nature of the market ensures a need for caution.
“Set one [upper] price limits in this atypical market would be a bit presumptuous. What is certain is that he has a certain value, “added Hovleck.

Speaking about Camavinga’s future in May, agent Jonathan Barnett, who is also known to represent Gareth Bale, confirmed that there have been “many offers” from “top classes”.
However, Barnett also insisted that there is no urgency for the player and his family to make a decision.
“It’s the right time to move on and playing games is the most important thing at his age. Playing in a good club is nice for him. It could be this year, or he wants another year, the agent tells the media network SNTV.

“He has to talk to his family, his father. We will all sit down and decide. We also talk to Rennes and decide. There is no hurry for him. ”
Manchester United have been rumored to be a forerunner of Camavinga in recent weeks and may need a new midfielder sooner rather than later if they are forced to sell Paul Pogba, who has entered the final year of his contract.
Real have had an eye on Camavinga for some time as Los Blancos need a squad, while PSG are also interested in a new midfielder and have also been linked with Pogba.
