Binding her to a long-term contract is a huge boost for Chelsea and Kerr revealed his joy over the news on Tuesday.
“It’s really exciting. I’m really happy at the club. We’ve had good success, being in a club like Chelsea is a great opportunity,” said Kerr.
“The time was just right, I feel very comfortable being here. I think the club gives me every opportunity to succeed as a player.
“I can not see myself going anywhere else in the world or leaving Europe and having what I have in Chelsea.
“The clock was right, honestly, I did not feel like I wanted to rush into anything, just like writing here for the first time, it just happened naturally.”
General manager Paul Green added: “We are absolutely delighted that Sam has extended his contract with the club. Sam is simply one of the world’s best strikers and goal scorers.
“We look forward to continuing to build on our recent successes, and Sam will play a major role in achieving these goals in the future.”
