Ann-Katrin Berger, Christiane Endler and Stephanie Lynn Marie Labbe are the three finalists nominated for The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper Award 2021.
Sweden’s Hedvig Lindahal and American stopper Alyssa Naeher have been cut from the original shortlist of five players that was revealed in November.

The annual goalkeeper award is now in its third year, with Chilean national team player Endler the only woman nominated each time.
Endler has two second places in her name, after Lyon’s Sarah Bouhaddi in 2020, but after leaving Paris Saint-Germain to join Bouhaddi in Lyon during the summer, she will be optimistic about finally getting the prize.
The 30-year-old led PSG to the Division 1 feminine title last season, conceding just four goals all season and was named the division’s best goalkeeper for his outstanding performances. Endler also led PSG to the final of the Champions League.
The French fell in the semifinals, but Berger’s Chelsea went all the way to the final, where they were beaten by Barcelona.
The German national team player Berger enjoyed a fantastic WSL campaign with Emma Hayes’ side, nagged about the domestic title and won the competition’s Golden Glove for having kept a clean sheet more than any other goalkeeper.
Closing of the nominees is Labbe, who left Swedish Rosengård to join PSG after Endler’s departure to Lyon.
Labbe underpinned Canada’s quest for gold at the 2020 Summer Olympics, dropping just two of six penalties in the final penalty shootout against Sweden and receiving rave reviews for its wide smiles.
