Che Adams and Stuart Armstrong returned to the Saints squad for their 3-2 win over West Ham this weekend.

Adam Armstrong and Fraser Forster were also welcomed back, although Hasenhuttl confirmed before the match that Lyanco, Jack Stephens and Nathan Tella will miss the rest of this year due to Covid-19.

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte confirmed last week that Christian Romero is likely to return early next month.

Ryan Sessegnon is also likely to miss out on a thigh problem, although Bryan Gil has recently returned from Covid-19 isolation and came off the bench against Palace.

You can read Tottenham’s predicted line-up here.

Spurs have the superior head-to-head record of the South Coast outfit in recent years, winning 14 of their last 20 meetings with Southampton.

They won 5-2 at St Mary’s last season under Jose Mourinho when Harry Kane assisted each of Son Heung-min’s four goals before taking Tottenham’s fifth in the afternoon.

While it was previously difficult to see where the goals would come from in the Tottenham team, Conte has solved his lack of shots in the attack.

Southampton, on the other hand, have the opposite problem, often competing in matches but unable to put the opposition to bed with a lack of firepower in the attack.

It is this type of match that Spurs must win if they are to have serious hopes of playing Champions League football next season.

Prediction: Southampton 0-2 Tottenham
