Southampton travel to face Swansea in the third round of the FA Cup in honor of Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side-eyed cup this season.

The Saints will look for a repeat of their FA Cup operations in 1976 when the club, led by Lawrie McMenemy, shocked Man Utd in the final through a late Bobby Stokes attack.

The Premier League kit meets a Swansea team that has been out of action since December 11 after a Covid-19 outburst at the club.

In the meantime, here’s everything you need to know about the game.

Swansea have not taken to the field since their 4-1 home loss to Nottingham Forest on December 11 due to forced launches of Covid-19.

Russell Martin confirmed that his team has returned to training this week and hopes that this weekend’s match will continue, but he admits that the majority of his players will not be able to fully train until later this week.

The Saints were not very happy when their clash with Newcastle last weekend was postponed, although it gives Hasenhuttl an opportunity to get more players back from injury and illness.

Che Adams, Lyanco and Jack Stephens will return from Covid-19, although Tino Livramento and Will Smallbone are likely to miss out due to injury.

Southampton have won four of their last six meetings with Swansea, and have a particularly strong away record in this match.

Although they lost 2-1 to the Swans in January 2017, they emerged victorious in the last meeting between these sides before Swansea’s relegation from the Premier League 2018.

Covid-19 addict, Hasenhuttl will probably have a strong squad to choose from this weekend as he aims for the FA Cup glory.

Swansea will lack sharpness after three weeks without a match, with the form before that – three consecutive losses – which does not provide any kind of encouragement for the Welsh outfit.

Southampton will need to be professional away from home, but they brag enough to get the job done.

Prediction: Swansea 0-2 Southampton
