Liverpool welcome Brentford to Anfield when Jurgen Klopp’s team looks to keep pace with Man City at the top of the Premier League.

The Reds were held at Anfield for the first time this season as they struggled for a goalless draw against ten-man Arsenal in the first part of their Carabao Cup semi-final in the middle of the week.

Brentford, meanwhile, suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat at Southampton in the middle of the week with manager Thomas Frank being forced to apologize to traveling Bee supporters for his side’s display.

Here’s everything you need to know about this weekend’s match.

Liverpool welcomed back Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alisson in the middle of the week after both recently tested positive for Covid-19.

The Reds’ trio Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita will continue to be absent due to their involvement in the African Cup of Nations, while Klopp recently confirmed that Thiago and Nathaniel Philips will miss.

Bina will be without Frank Onyeka with the midfielder currently on the African Cup of Nations service with Nigeria.

Goalkeeper David Raya and Josh Dasilva are long-term absences for Frank, although defender Rico Henry has an outside chance to be available.

These two teams played one of the season’s matches in September’s 3-3 draw in west London.

Liverpool thought they had taken all three points when Curtis Jones struck deep into the second half in a stroke by stroke, but Yoane Wissa equalized for the Bees with eight minutes left.

The loss of goalkeeper David Raya has been a big blow for Brentford, where his replacement Alvaro Fernandez had to endure a horrible night in the 4-1 loss at St. Mary’s in the middle of the week.

Even in the absence of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, Liverpool will smell blood, and they boast a formidable record in front of fans at Anfield.

Expect no less than three points for Klopp’s men.

Prediction: Liverpool 3-0 Brentford
