Twitter reacts to Cristiano Ronaldo saving Man Utd again

4

As someone who does not believe in appropriate measurements of “connection” in football, Cristiano Ronaldo goes a long way in the Champions League campaign to try to prove me the opposite.

After making late comeback winners against Villarreal and Atalanta already this season, the Portuguese forward was up to his old tricks to secure Manchester United a valuable point away in Bergamo on Tuesday night.

It looked like it would be another game that simply would not go Man Utd’s path. They fell behind to a goal from Josip Ilicic – whose pea roll was spilled by David de Gea.

It is the first direct mistake from De Gea in the whole season. United had started really positively but the zero in Spurs was never a reliable measure of their defense. #mufc

The next match is to keep a clean sheet.

I’m running out of words for De Gea. Honestly. I do not even know what to say anymore.

But Ronaldo was in place to pull his side back into the match and finished a nice free-floating move to equalize at half time.

Ronaldo to the rescue again! ? ‍♂️

It’s a sublime move by Man Utd!

Brunos backheel?

– Manchester United (@ManUtd) November 2, 2021

Manchester United have many problems but Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo are on a different level. They need to find a system that allows them to decide games. Always find it strange that any of them can be criticized even though they consistently deliver and save their skin.

Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo are currently the best duo partnership in the world. ?

– Castro1021 (@ Castro1021) November 2, 2021

While Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes were impressive, midfield duo Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba were anything but constantly losing the ball and failing to help United develop the ball.

They think it’s an agenda to call Pogba too bad

– efb (@isoquince) November 2, 2021

Tell Pogba he can start discussions with other clubs at midnight. January too far. Tell him to start making plans from now on

– Siuuski (@MANCZINI) November 2, 2021

McTominay’s relationship with the ball is Toxic

– Rod Strickland (@Reemzestilo) November 2, 2021

How many matches will Pogba play in the pivot until we learn that he is not a pivot player and will never do so?

– Maram AlBaharna (@maramperninety) November 2, 2021

Yanited are so lucky that Pogba takes the decision out of their hands because they are completely stupid enough to give him a big extension

-? (@mellamodev) November 2, 2021

Paul Pogba has been absolutely cruel. #mufc

And before you knew it, United were behind again. Dove Zapata ran on a ball over the top after being played onside by Harry Maguire, while De Gea remained rooted to his line and failed to reduce the angle.

Isolate Britain must employ the gea cos when the bride stays he will NOT move

– T (@Broonoooooo) November 2, 2021

When you have a slow CB like Harry Maguire with 0 recovery rate, you need a garbage collector.

De Gea is so far from being an unreal, worst possible combination.

Solskjaer really meant something by throwing Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek (!!!) in search of a late equalizer.

But there was obviously only one man at the moment …

No chance Ronaldo! ???

How is he doing this!

Cristiano Ronaldo has saved his managerial job for the third Champions League match in a row. How is this a way to run a football club?

And so Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lives to fight another day. Again.

No one has ever been so good at doing just enough at work to avoid being fired like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

– Grace Robertson? ️‍⚧️ (@GraceOnFootball) November 2, 2021

Ronaldo is also the cause of Solskjaer’s problems and the only thing that keeps Solskjaer in a job. Schrödingers Ronaldo.
