Agreement in the United States on a recovery plan against coronavirus

Faced with the coronavirus pandemic, the US administration and senators reached a compromise on a plan to support the US economy to the tune of $ 2 trillion on Wednesday.

“We have an agreement,” Eric Ueland, the White House adviser, told reporters. An agreement was reached on Wednesday March 25 between the US administration and the Senate after several days of negotiations on an economic recovery plan aimed at mitigating the economic consequences of the related health crisis with coronavirus.

$ 2,000 billion

This support plan will amount to 2,000 billion dollars (1,842 billion euros). The compromise should notably provide direct financial aid for Americans by sending checks to millions of households in the amount of up to $ 3,000.

At the same time, credits would be made available to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) up to 350 billion, and 250 billion dollars would go to aid measures for the unemployed and at least 75 billion to hospitals.

Coronavirus appeared in China in December and killed 720 people and infected more than 53,000 in the United States. According to the World Health Organization, the country could soon become the main focus of the pandemic in the world.
